Rare Handcraft Hi-Beat: Kira-Zuri Dial & Hammered Case

Seiko Grand Hi-Beat Pinnacle: Kirazuri-Dial, Hammered Case

CHF 36,000

WHY WE LOVE IT? One of the most outstanding watch-cases and a superior automatic-movement made in quite sure no more than 200 examples (produced in Aug-1969 & a few in Feb-1970) -- with probably much less still existing: a Must-Love.

The three-part case (37.5mm excl crown * 40mm lug-to-lug) with screwed caseback and its wonderful hammered finish is spectacular and beyond beautiful in sunlight; but the solid gold Kirazuri-dial is stealing the show: like thousands of facets it starts to shine from matte to very bright from one angle to another and when the full light hits it, then it even seems to glow. Oh, and a word to the Kirazuri-technique and its modern interpretation: different than the modern GS-variants with a "similar" dial, this one is completely manu-factured (made by hand) and unique. Can you feel that? No. Can you see that? Yes, you can.

This example is one of the first (with serialnumber less than 10) and one of the best preserved: probably unpolished and in wonderful condition. We can offer this jewel -- probably the peak of mechanical vintage (Grand) Seiko, when you understand a watch as a holistic object, not just as a movement -- in all original condition, with its original 18K-GS-buckle and a new custom-made strap between the solid gold case & buckle: either in dark-blue ostrich or anthracite alligator. Also included is the remarkable and beautiful wooden box with fine red velvet and red silk inside (Becchin to Shiruku).
