EmailWHY WE LOVE IT? A design like the Sacco-Benz R129. The first modern GrandSeiko and so obviously a late 1980s-design in steel-gold & electronic: quartz. Precise to 10s per year and the predecessor of the current Seiko cal9F: important. And just like the Mercedes SL: technological avant-garde.
Introduced in 1988 -- GrandSeiko: after reaching the peak in mechanical watchmaking at the end of the 1960s and following its disappearance in the early 1970s, the premium-badge for the top products of Seiko, "Grand Seiko", was re-introduced in 1988 with the important quartz-cal9581 / 9587. Now combining mechanical & electronic watches of highest quality alike, under this sub-brand.
This example was made in Apr-1990; comes with box (inner & outer), hangtag and instructions-booklet.
The finely aged gold looks just amazing and the watch has its sticker on the caseback and appears to be unworn.
