Lapis-Desk Clock by Piaget

Piaget Lapis Lazuli-Desk Clock, Beta21

CHF 2,700

WHY WE LOVE IT? It is an artefact closely related to the development of quartz and esp the introduction of the Beta21, the first Swiss quartzwatch in 1970-Apr. And it comes in typical Piaget-design decorated with deep blue lapis lazuli-inlays.

A rectangular-shaped DeskClock by Piaget with a linen-finished brass-case and lively Lapis-inlays. The dial states proudly QUARTZ and the two hands and the case-ratio is clearly leaned to the popular Beta21 Piaget ref14101.

The movement is working precise and reliable and could be loaded with usual and available batteries. The case shows some discolorations here and there and the stone-applications have a few imperfections and defects but it should be noted that these just superficial and are not an issue because the lapis is statically glued to the heavy case.
