Rare & Important: Heavy Emperador-Beta21 w/ Warhol-Dial

Piaget Beta21 Emperador: Andy Warhol-Dial, Heavy Palace-Decor, Limited

WHY WE LOVE IT? Because it is one of the most beautiful and lavish-made Beta21; has the same dial like the Andy Warhol-owned Beta21 (aubergine-anthracite-morpho with 3D-indexes); and is one of the most wearable Beta21. Besides that: the three-stepped Piaget ref14101 & ref15101 Beta21 is the beginning of the Emperador, the predecessor of the Polo and THE watch of the 1970s.

Made in 1972 according to our books and notes and coming with (fitted) box. The heavy (>200g) icon is in very good condition, the bracelet without stretch or issues and the watch obviously unpolished. This is the beginning of the Piaget Emperador, the watch that dominated the 1970s in various forms; the watch that was the model for the '79-presented successor Piaget Polo.

The Emperador-bracelet was first used with the three-stepped Beta21 and the connection is obvious as the bracelet basically elongates the stepped case. The first appearances were in 1972 and so we can be sure this is one of the first Emperador.
