Rare & Ultra-Thin: Brick / Tank
Omega Ultra-Thin Tank SlimLine, Manufacturer-Serviced, Extra-Plat Brick, cal540

- Time (Hour, Minute)
WHY WE LOVE IT? Because the cal540 is a very special and important ultra-thin Omega-movement -- not only technologically a milestone but also one of the most expensive and rarest mechanical calibers of the brand from Biel, Switzerland.
The watch was (approx) made in 1960 and serviced by Omega, Switzerland in Sep-2025. The beautiful geometric case (18K-yellowgold and made by Wenger SA, Geneve for Omega) is sharp and measures 25*32mm and is just a hairline thicker than 4mm -- incl crystal, of course. The dial was left in its vintage and very aesthetic condition and explicitly not refreshed / refurbished during the service -- and I think for a good reason: very authentic and a stark contrast to the now like-new case it is a aesthetically very appealing watch, now. The partial service by Omega included a full-serice of the movement, replacement of the crystal and refreshment of the 18K-yellowgold case.
The cal540 is based on the 1957-introduced cal9P by Piaget and we have not only outlined this but even more relevant information about this very important movement and the great Omegas that were equipped with this horological milestone.
