EmailWHY WE LOVE IT: What an important beauty! I am quite sure that it is close to impossible to find another similar well-preserved, original and beautiful model of this Longines-Tank. And what makes it even more attractive: a similar watch from Cartier or Patek would not beat it in design; a similar Cartier or Patek would not beat it in quality; and a similar Patek or Cartier would not beat it in rarity; but their prices would cut much deeper: but we dont like to pay for a name but for quality, condition & rarity.
Made in 1926 (approx) from platinum and in great and original condition: a rare jewel. We can date the cal8.47 (serviced and running precise & reliable) with its 4.6mio-serial to the mid 1920 (probably 1926) and the serial of the case matches the movement-serial of course. The French platinum-hallmark (dog, guaranteeing 0.95% fine platinum) on the flank and the serial-number on the caseback is visible deeply and probably unpolished. Yes, and as it will become 100y old soon, one might wonder about the excellence of this condition -- surprising and rare.
