This is the very first Accutron by Bulova; the very first electronic watch. OK, maybe it is not the number one ever produced, but one of the earliest and I have never seen an earlier one than this 1960-made Bulova Accutron and even more it is made in solid 18K-gold: M0-stamped for 1960. Bulova presented the Accutron cal214 at 25th of Oct-1960 and so it is safe to assume it is one of the first -- moreover, in 18K-gold. NB, this horological important date is tomorrow exactly 65y ago and we are happy to have this #horologicalMilestone in our collection; preserve it and carry it to the future: Plus Ultra.
The case-serial is C59'XXX and the case of this first electronic watch is obviously a homage to the Prestige de la France: LIP Cosmic, the first electric watch made in 1958. See here: *klikk. and here: *klikk.
The dial is also very close to the LIP Cosmic-dial and it is the first form of presentation of the revolutionary cal214 by Bulova. The so popular SpaceView (ie. without a dial) is introduced later in 1961.
