Rare FullSet: 1st Series Rolex King Midas
Rolex King Midas: Rare 1st Series in FullSet

- Time (Hour, Minute)
WHY WE LOVE IT: Because there are other whitegold 1st series Rolex Midas, sure. But there are no other better than this. Unique & the Best! A whitegold Fullset 1970-made Rolex (sold 1971) in excellent condition -- Rolex made just 144 between 1962 and 1972 and in this condition and set it is probably unique nowadays. And because we know: the Rolex Midas came in higher quality than a Daytona or any other Rolex of this era.
FullSet Rolex King Midas (Whitegold) produced in 1970 and sold in September 1971: Yes, you heard that box and papers are not so important. And this might be true with your commodity-Rolex. But its different with a Rolex Midas. Of course it is the relevant 1st series, when Midas was a standalone-series in the Rolex offerings next to Oyster or Cellini: Consisting of ref9630 King Midas (weight: 200g), ref9903 Princess Midas (weight: 200g) and ref9904 Queen Midas (weight: 150g) -- Hans Wilsdorfs last project: "The closer one comes to his end, the more immortal the products have to be." Heavy, stable & solid gold-case & -bracelet with a strong connection to the past (Midas-theme) and a strong grip to the future (design & "eternal metal": gold) topped with Rolex' first usage of the "ever-lasting" sapphire-crystal.
In 1973 it was integrated into Cellini and then not only the weight was reduced significantly but also the quality decayed over the years.
Of course the watch is unpolished and in excellent condition -- no stretch and no significant signs of use or wear, just some micro-scratches from storing and handling. The watch is unknown to the market. And yes, you can get any other whitegold Rolex Midas... they made 144 in whitegold, so there are probably more than just this around. Right, but this is probably the most special and the best: unknown to the market, one owner, original box (urn incl all 3 inlay-parts, socket and cardboard-box) & original paper (sold Sep-1971) -- not a service paper or a fitted box.
FullSet: Watch, original guarantee paper and original box (outer cardboard box, urn-box and all three inlay-parts). We bought it from the 1st owners son and it is unknown to the market.
Between 1962 and 1972 Rolex manufactured 144 King Midas in whitegold and it is the Rolex to be gifted: Elvis Presley for sold out shows; John Wayne for a blockbuster; Sir Jackie Stewart for the 1969 F1-Championship; Rene-Paul Jeanneret for being Hans Wilsdorf right-hand; and many more: each and every Rolex Midas tells a in depth-story by itself;
