Gentas Nautilus X Ellipse: Rare Nautillipse
Patek Philippe Nautillipse TwoTone: Rare 80s Finest Ellipse X Nautilus

- Time (Hour, Minute)
WHY WE LOVE IT: I have written several articles about it over the years about this so long overlooked Patek; and the love just gets stronger -- there are not many other Pateks as characteristic as this one. And indeed, just two hands, no complications but an iconic and unmistakable design -- designed by Gerald Genta in 1981.
This one comes with box and Excerpt of the Patek-Archive mentioning the sale in Nov-1982.
The Nautillipse, Pateks Finest in the Early 1980s: Steel/Gold-Bicolor, when Quartz was the Best and Thin a Plus. With just 300pcs made between 1981 and 1983 it is much rarer than the only other Patek designed by Genta, the ref3700 Jumbo Nautilus and imo more wearable -- needless to say that it is for sure more precise and hassle-free than the automatic-powered ref3700, that Patek presented 4y before this beauty. And that was a non-seller (the 3700) and the reason why Patek asked Genta to design a bridge-product to lure customers from the hot-seller Ellipse into the back-then lame duck Nautilus -- the Nauti-llipse = Nautilus X Ellipse.
Of course with the original unmistakable bracelet and not with a ref3800-Nautilus-aftermarket one, that is visible on so many (the majority) of these -- just check our blog.
