Rare & Characteristic Genta-Patek in FullSet
Patek Philippe Ellipse-Nautilus: Rare Genta Nautillipse, FullSet

- Time (Hour, Minute)
WHY WE LOVE IT? There were just two watches designed by Gerald Genta for Patek: the Jumbo-Nautilus ref3700 and the Ellipse-Nautilus ref3770 -- the most-Patek watch by Patek Philippe and the only significant evolution of the Nautilus before the Cubitus (recte Cubic-Nautilus) was presented in 2024.
We are proud to have this one in our offerings: a exceedingly rare watch in a probably unique condition and full set, sold 1986 in Interlaken, Switzerland (Chronometrie Kirchhofer).
Research from us and John Reardon (Collectability LLC) shows that in total ~300 pieces of the Patek ref3770 were made -- the by far rarest vintage Nautilus -- and the majority (~200pcs) were made in steel; ~100 in bicolor steel-gold; and just a fraction of that (less than 30pcs) were made in fullgold. The latter variant splitting further in some with a gold-bracelet and just a few on a leather-strap, like the one we can offer here.
Needless to point out it is the most versatile variant: becoming a classic dress-watch when worn on a black leather-strap; becoming a sporty companion when put on a blue or green or grey rubber-strap; or almost any other combination accompanying your dress is possible. The original unworn Patek-strap is inclusive; besides this we are happy to listen to your ideas for an additional.
The watch was sold 1986 in Switzerland and serviced in 2011 by Beyer Chronometrie, Zurich. It will get another small service by the institution in Zurich (Beyer) before selling: checking & cleaning, new battery and fresh gaskets.
