Important Calatrava: Pateks 1st Automatic X Somazzi

Patek Philippe 1st Automatic: Important DoubleSigned & Original Bracelet, Somazzi Lugano

WHY WE LOVE IT? It is the important 1st automatic-watch made by Patek Philippe -- and it is not only a horological and historical relevant early example (made in 1953 according to the included Patek-Archive excerpt) but also one of the most beautiful with its 1st variant-dial, the Somazzi-doublesignature and the perfect 2526-bracelet made by Gay Freres for Patek and included with this watch originally (not a later ad-on or jeweler-made bracelet) and is mentioned in the archive as well, of course -- as it should be. One of the most important Patek Philippe in its exceptional & rare execution.

The counter-weight of the small-secondhand is broken but this is just a minimal aesthetic flaw and could be solved with the next service at Patek, if necessary. Next to this, the watch is in very good condition, show just minor signs of wear and time.

By the way, Somazzi (Lugano, Switzerland) is one of the most historical-relevant and one of the oldest Patek-Authorised Dealers; still active today. Founded in 1854 and PP-AD since 1906 they expand their PP-location these days and since Gubelin was mostly removed from the Patek map and Beyer will be taken over by the end of 2026 and thus removed as PP-AD, they remain the oldest in Switzerland next to the Bern-located Zigerli+Iff.
