Lip R27 Jupiter: Electrique, Prestige de la France
Lip Jupiter Electrique: DeGaulle & Prestige de la France, R27
WHY WE LOVE IT? Because it is the 2nd electric watch -- presented 1958 and just a few weeks after the Hamilton cal500 but way better in every aspect: technology, reliability, serviceability and overall quality. And besides this horological importance it is of industry-historical relevance, too: a true and honest Prestige de la France. On top of all that it is a French design-coup -- compare the huge caseback (due to the big-sized movement and two button-cell batteries) to the optically clever reduced and normalized front: Chapeau!
This early 1958-made steel example of the important Lip R27 -- an innovative electric-movement in a clever and important case. Obviously one of the first as indicated by the "Patents Pending"-mark on the caseback and the low LIP-case-serial of 4'XXX. The movement was serviced right now and is working reliable and precise.
