WHY WE LOVE IT? It is the important and last vintage JLC-Chronometer -- powering the VC Chronometre Royal next to these JLC Steel Sport-Luxury watches, that arrived in low quantities in 1973ff in the shadow of the so popular AP Royal Oak but prior to the other siblings Patek Nautilus, IWC Ing & VC 222.
Now, we can debate whether such a watch is important or should remain in all aspects (relevance, attention, price, research) in the shadow of its more popular siblings and, yes JLC is not Patek. But horological we see at least a very interesting bastion by JLC against the uprising electronic (tuningfork- & quartz-) watches with the Chronometer-graded sophisticated cal906; we see a very (!) early steel sportswatch in the luxury-sector made as robust and in high quality as its siblings; we see a technically more sophisticated caliber: (hacking) seconds-hand, heavy rotor, Chronometer-graded; and we see a beautiful and lavish-made dial not short of its siblings. Whether it is a plus or a minus that it was made in far less pieces than any of its "competitors" is left to the reader.
Now, this is the rare and sought-after configuration with the twotone-blue dial. Coming fresh from the full service at Jaeger LeCoultre, Switzerland and so with a 24months-warranty by the maison until late 2027. Furthermore it is presented with the Excerpt of JLC-Archive dating it to 1974.
