Bello Caramello: JLC Bumper Automatic

Jaeger LeCoultre Important Early Automatic, Caramel Patinae Bumper

CHF 2,500

WHY WE LOVE IT: Because it is a beautiful horological milestone, a early bumper-automatic with a characteristic and amazing patina-dial.

Bello Caramello Bumperello -- we date this important JLC to the late 1940s (1948/49 probably) and this is without doubt one of the most beautiful early JLC automatics out there. The fading tone patinae is amazing and we can only speculate how it looks on a tanned wrist -- until summer, when facts will prove our imagination an underrating.

But even more: The movement val476 was not only base for the Vacheron cal477 -- the 1st VC automatic caliber -- but also the 1st automatic caliber made and used by JLC and so without doubt a horological milestone and an important watch.
