The two most expensive Movados ever made, were probably the limited editions made by the two pop-art artists Andy Warhol (Times5) & Yaacov Agam (Set of 3 watches & 1 clock with stands in an impressive suit-box) -- the first was offered for USD18'000 in the 1989-catalogue and the latter for USD20'000.

While the Warhol-watch is optically interesting, it is technically just five separate quartz-watches linked together. The Agam-watch is optically not less impressive but even technically something special: analogue to a mystery / mysterieuse watch it has two thin glass discs showing minute & hour and creating all-new and inspiring patterns with the two Agam-designed op-art shapes.

This is quite innovative and interesting to observe. Even more, the cases were made from scratch resistant (and back-then probably quite expensive) black ceramic, like the Omega Cermet.

Sometimes it is said these watches are from plain steel and black PVD-coated but this is not correct: it is a ceramic-alloy, probably very similar to the metallic-ceramic used for the Omega Cermet -- almost as hard as a diamond: 2'000 Vickers.
