Richemont-Dismantling: JLC & Piaget

Friday, February 6, 2026

Being part of the Richemont-group is a pain for every brand, besides the owners most-loved toy Cartier.

Some love bondage but some dont and so the rumor that a consortium around Jérôme Lambert -- current CEO, who obviously feels a bit limited in this tight corset -- is considering a management-buyout of Jaeger-LeCoultre for one billion is rather good news. And it could be a win-win for both parties involved with a bright future for JLC not only within the realm of possibility, but even very likely.

And if Richemont is now freeing parts of the group, even for Piaget I think something similar would make sense -- if someone has the nerves (and money) to clean up the current clutter in that corner of department. If someone asks me: I am in to #makePiagetGreatAgain (*klikk).
