RoseGold Clous-de-Paris-Charm / Pendant by Ponti Gennari for Scotland
Others Ponti Gennari Hobnail-Charm- / Pendant- / PocketWatch
A (probably) 1940s rare and probably unique pendant-watch with a manual FHF cal59 (serviced) in a artfully 18K-rosegold Hobnail- / Clous-de-Paris-case made by the best: Ponti Gennari -- the Geneva-goldsmith, that made so important Patek-cases like the ref1436 and ref2540, some of the most classic and relevant bracelets. It was the home and important station in the careers for Gerald Genta (1946 - 1950s) and Jean-Pierre Hagmann (1950s, stamp JPH). Another important and creative employee to P*G was Jean-Claude Gueit, the creative mind and designer of many (if not all) the beautiful Piaget-designs of the 70s and 80s -- the Piaget Polo, to name the most popular. So, it is probably fair to say, that P*G was one of the most relevant goldsmiths & casemakers of Geneva. And this important house was integrated into Piaget in 1970 -- paving the way for their journey to become "The House of Gold" and the best and most relevant watch-brand in the 1970s & 1980s.
The FHF cal59 was once the smallest with just one layer (ie. ex DuoPlan) and the watch is quite sure a piece unique. The pendant-watch was made in Switzerland (Swiss Goldmarks, P*G-stamp and the Poincon de Maitre Key[26] for Ponti Gennari) but obviously imported the UK, Glasgow as the import-hallmarks for 18K-gold indicate (A5M, FF, 18-750).
