Bulgari Platinum PocketWatch RomaFinissimo: Blue Sapphire-Set Art Deco

WHY WE LOVE IT? Rome for the Pocket! Sure, you can carry change-money in your pocket. But there is a way to put the eternal city of Rome into your pocket as well. It is ultrathin, approx 100y old and was made for Bulgari in Platinum and it looks rugged by design: immutable and time-resistant, Bulgari Roma-Finissimo.

We date this Bvlgari-watch to the mid 1920s. The company stamp of Baume & Mercier (B & M / G, oval) is clearly visible inside and was registered in 1920. Further there is the Swiss 95%-platinum hallmark Chamois-head, which was used until 1933. These dates are the lower and upper boundary for the creation date. The serialnumber of 57'XXX and our research-notes make us think it was done in 1926 or 1927 (approx).

The dial not only looks outstanding and unusual but literally amazing. Like the whole watch it was brushed-finished and appears excellently preserved in its Art Deco style (Dark Deco & Film Noir). The case is in very good condition as well and free of any personal enscriptions or engravings. The blue saphirre band around the case is original and without any defects as well. Inside runs the highest grade (8 Adjustments, 18 jewels) Baume & Mercier pocketwatch-movement, which is decorated and stamped with the Geneva-Seal. Serviced and in excellent condition you can expect it to be not only reliable but also precise for the next century.
