Rare Boucheron Reflet: Clous-de-Paris Cioccolatone, Hobnail Total
Boucheron Clous-de-Paris Cioccolatone Reflet, French Hobnail
WHY WE LOVE IT? Because it is a beautiful and characteristic French watch in outstanding execution: Clous-de-Paris.
The Boucheron Reflet: No clasp in the classic sense but a closing-mechanism on the 18K-gold case and a single-piece leather-strap. This innovation is unique to Boucheron and was patented by the French jewellery-pioneer with their patent BT1203255 (engraved on the caseback, see document) in 1958 -- probably the year this watch was made. The timepiece is Clous-de-Paris-finished all over and even the winding-crown has the same finishing: intransigeant.
Sure, without a clasp there is no way to adjust a standard-strap to any wrist and so it will be delivered with a custom-made leather-strap fitting your wrist, instead. This time it's personal.
