Vintage Amagnetic Calatrava Bumper Automatic Piaget

Piaget Rare Bumper Calatrava, Spillmann Case, 1952

Sold

A very well preserved Piaget from 1952 housing a Piaget bumper / hammer automatic movement behind a ivory colored dial with printed minutes scale and applied hours indexes and arabic numerals. Put together in a massive 18K yellow gold hand made case (made by Spillmann manufacture) in classic men watch dimensions, with 34mm diameter. Classy!

The watch is in very good condition, just a dent on the left side flank of the case -- see photo -- and a minimal warp of the right top lug.

On the back there is an engraving stating 'La Cote-Aux-Fees 1950 - 1952' and as La Cote-Aux-Fees, Switzerland is the home of Piaget, it is highly probable that this watch was a gift presented to a high-ranked employee or manager, who worked there for two years.

The movement is secured by an additional metal cap inside the case.

It is working perfect as well, after our overhaul. The watch comes with a very fine brown thin lizard leather strap and as well a cream colored thin alligator leather strap that was custom made for this watch and is a guarantee for the classy vintage but at the same time fresh appearance -- summerwatch. On the other end of the strap there is an AWenger buckle.
